Since 1988, AEDI was a company devoted to the realization of custom scientific instrumentation and T&M equipment.

Major realizations in these years have been:

• A very high frame rate camera system (up to 2000 frames/sec) for studying plasma discharge in high power switches.
• A solar simulator and active load for production testing of solar arrays used in space applications.
• A photometric reader for biomedical analysis.
• A measurement system based on photon counting for thermoluminescence analysis used in dating of archaeological relics and in high sensitivity dosimetry.
• A particle sizer for measuring distribution of particles in electric power plant exhaust.
• An optical density meter for on-line quality control of metal deposition on plastic films.

Peculiar experience concerns analog, digital and mixed signal electronics design and testing, especially in the optoelectronics field (CCD, PMT, SiPD, IR detectors) using high speed techniques and programmable logic devices (PLD, FPGA) as well as hardware/software integration and system interfacing, particularly for real-time and embedded systems.
